About the BookS

Imagine kids raised outdoors…

They shine, there is a brightness in them, a sparkle in the eye, a jump in the joint, along with an easy way of being kind, a capacity for quiet attention.

Let’s grow children like that.

These books are for anyone looking to connect more deeply with nature, specifically:

PARENTS
Parents with children of all ages who want to explore, hike, camp, or just hang out in the local outback. Your activities may manifest in after school programs, home-schooling groups, neighborhood clubs, or backyard buddies, both formal and informal.

TEACHERS
Instructors, mentors, coaches, tutors who have the opportunity to take students outdoors. You are in charge of children’s learning and are aware of the challenges of big groups and school standards. But you are determined to jump all hurdles to get your kids outside so they can experience the benefits of time in nature.

OUTDOOR GUIDES
You plan and mentor seasonal outdoor programs that offer everything from summer camps to conquering summits. You lead adventures that build skills, knowledge, courage, and camaraderie — out in parks, fields, trails, and wilderness. Your people may be diverse and at-risk.

The Curious Coyote book set. Each book is 5×8-inch in size, full color,  and around 130 pages in length.

About the Authors

Ellen Haas & Lexie Bakewell

Ellen Haas loved Coyote Mentoring the moment she met it. She and Jon Young and Evan McGown, conspired for many years to get the Art of Mentoring practice into print by writing Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature.

Lexie Bakewell is a long time curious naturalist. She thrives on poking around outdoors; then combing through field guides to know more about who she met on her wanders. Her background in field biology and Science Education make everything interesting.

Curious Coyote & Coyote’s Pocket Guide were published by ZieBee Media in 2020.

This project involved editing the Authors’ original manuscript, curating and editing photographs, creating the book’s interior design, cover artwork, and formatting the book for print and digital publishing.

All profits from book sales go directly towards the creation of new art education and books by ZieBee Media.
