Color a postcard each week to enjoy regular quality time, and to get in the habit of connecting directly with people in your life.
This practice of creativity is easy, accessible, and inviting for everyone regardless of age or ability. Plus, everyone loves getting mail – especially something as unique and special as a postcard you’ve colored yourself.
Our postcards are designed for you to color in, so you can take a break from the everyday and relax with some quality time. You’ll be both exercising your creativity and staying connected with friends and family.
A single postcard can be completed in one sitting, or if you’re like me – you can enjoy mini doses of coloring throughout each day, gradually adding layers and finishing a single hand-colored postcard each week.
When you color and how you color, is completely up to you. The key is to find a time to go to your coloring spot regularly so it becomes a habit, carefully cultivated knowing it is good for you.

What is a coloring postcard: A postcard that you color yourself. It can be sent in an envelope with a longer letter or stamped and mailed as is. Note: Forever Stamps in the USA are good for up to a 1oz letter. You can also get the cheaper Postcard Stamps if you’re sending it that way.
Why color postcards: Exercise your imagination, practice penmanship, and enjoy staying connected through snail mail. Pro Tip: Mix it with another habit you do regularly, such as reading the paper or enjoying a cup of tea.
Materials for coloring: Pens, pencils, markers, crayons, watercolors, stickers, stamps, anything goes! Try This: Visit a local art store and browse their used supplies, there are often some great finds.
How to color your postcard: Start by picking a focal color or select color scheme, such as a harmonious combination of Violet-Blue-Green. Then, take a few deep breaths to relax and study the design, then dive right in. Go with the Flow: A bit of a plan is helpful, then try to just let the colors flow through you onto the paper. Be curious. Have fun.
Tips for creating the perfect card: Know who it will go to first, so you can have them in mind as you make the art. Practice with your pens or pencils first, so you know you’ll be happy with the colors. Start light and map out your color choices, then add details and depth with more layers of colors. Always remember, there is no right or wrong way to color.
Examples of what others have done with their cards: Use them as invitations, writing thank you notes, sending notes during road trips, creating framed art originals, storyboarding novels, and staying connected as Pen Pals with friends and family near and far.
